Portrush & Portstewart are situated on the beautiful North Coast, together with Coleraine, they form what the locals call “the Triangle,” because of their layout. With only 4 miles separating the two towns of Portrush and Portstewart, You could spend the morning in one and the afternoon in the other.
Portrush is in a spectacular location, sitting on a mile long peninsula which extends into the Atlantic Ocean. From here you get panoramic views over the ocean towards Scotland and to Donegal.
This town, which is only eight miles from Kings Country Cottages, has something for everyone with fantastic beaches, great restaurants, hotels and loads of family entertainment such as Barrys amusements, Waterworld, The Coastal Zone etc. and close to world renowned attractions such as the Giants Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and Bushmills Distillery.
Portstewart is Portrush’s neighbour on the coast, only four miles apart and only seven miles from Kings Country Cottages. It is a quieter and more sedate town with a picturesque harbour, promenade and it also has a two mile stretch of sand on Portstewart Strand.
It is great for shopping, eating out and has a flourishing arts and cultural scene with the very active Arts Centre. Visitors can sample and enjoy lots of flavours of home- made ice-cream on the promenade including the famous”Morelli’s Ice Cream”. At the Crescent, children and families can enjoy a play pool and outdoor entertainment complex with climbing frames, see-saws, slides and a bandstand with tiered seating. There is also a 9 hole golf course and also two 18 hole golf courses nearby.
